Food Plot Tip: Weed Control

Weed control is a big part of growing successful crops during the warm season. Both annual and perennial crops have selective herbicides that can be used to control unwanted grass or broadleaf weeds that can steal moisture and nutrients from your food plot. Ammonium Sulfate (AMS) is a great tank additive that can be used with almost all food plot herbicides to make them work more efficiently and produce a better kill. Well water that is hard or has a high mineral content is greatly improved with the addition of AMS to your tank mix. Check your herbicide label for compatibility, AMS is relatively inexpensive and is available in a water soluble granular and liquid forms.
